VOLUNTEER ALERT: Samaritan's Purse needs volunteers as we respond to the Queensland Floods

What We Do…

Samaritan’s Purse is a Christian organisation demonstrating God’s love by showing mercy and bringing hope to those in greatest need. Samaritan’s Purse is working in over 100 counties. The main focus of the Australian and New Zealand office is Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Projects include:

DISASTER RELIEF
In disasters, wars and emergencies, children and families are often hardest hit. Samaritan’s Purse provides relief, comfort, physical help and life-saving emergency aid to people affected by disaster, war, famine and poverty.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Every year Operation Christmas Child puts smiles on faces, bringing joy and hope to children in need with gift-filled shoe boxes lovingly packed by families, churches, schools and businesses throughout Australia and New Zealand.

THE GREATEST JOURNEY
The Greatest Journey helps children around the world learn about God, faith and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ through a fun, interactive discipleship program in their own language, and to receive their very own Bible.

WATER & SANITATION – ‘Turn on the Tap’
Samaritan’s Purse is providing safe water for children, families and communities in the world’s poorest nations through projects that provide wells, rainwater tanks, BioSand water filters and training in health and hygiene practices.

EDUCATION
Samaritan’s Purse believes all children should have access to quality education and the hope of a brighter future free from poverty. Our educational projects build schools and pre-schools, pay school fees and Teachers’ salaries, and fund much needed school supplies.

HEALTH
Samaritan’s Purse builds fully equipped health clinics and provides health education and a range of health services that improve the quality of life for children and families in poverty, and impact the health of whole communities.

VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES
Samaritan’s Purse provides aid, health care, housing and education for orphans, the disabled, victims of human trafficking, and other vulnerable communities struggling to survive in hostile living environments and always at risk of being exploited.

LIVELIHOODS
Samaritan’s Purse provides vocational, business, and subsistence farming training to help people in the world’s poorest nations develop the skills to build livelihoods, earn income, provide for their families and create a future free from poverty.
